Last Saturday night my best bud and I where sitting at the bar having a drink. Imagine that I know. The bartender came over and told us some of the local bars had an adult kickball league starting the next day. She of coursed asked us to play for Brooks, the bar she works at. The idea wasn't very appealing, but after a few more beers we relented. The next morning we headed over to the field and decided perhaps we shouldn't make decisions while drinking. Being the troopers we are, we stayed. What a fucking sight. Everyone out there either worked at a bar or was a bar regular. Needless to say many a hungover player was on the field of challenge. To shorten this up lets just say we won and leave it at that. But first I must say my friend is English and has never played baseball let alone kickball. Obviously he has played soccer and we thought him how to run bases. He saved the day for us with a in the park home run and later with a great kick that brought home two players. I on the other hand tripped trying to grab up the ball when the pitcher threw at a runner headed to home. Naturally I put my arm down to catch myself. For over 29 years my left arm has been there for me so sometimes over the last 17 months I forget it doesn't work to good any more. Needless to say I kept on falling all the way into the metal pole of the spectator awning. Like I said it was a fucking sight. But a bunch of drunks got a little exercise and a lot of laughs. Not bad for a Sunday morning.
